Dessert is the final portion of a meal, be it a fancy or regular one. It originates from the French term 'desservir', which means "to clear the table", the table was cleared in order to serve the final course, hence why 'desservir' developed to be used as 'dessert'. Dessert is sometimes also called pudding, or the sweet course (now that's a fancy word for dessert.


Eating a moderate amount of dessert is proven to be not only delicious but also nutritious.
